Big pay increases for Ealing Councillors Having been re-elected in May, Labour Councillors rewarded themselves by increasing their allowances. Everyone received an increase of nearly 25%, with the Council leader getting more than £21,000 a year more, taking his total pay to over £70,000.
We went to join in the march to protest against the local library closures this morning only to find that it had been hijacked by Ealing Trades Union Council and the Socialist Workers' Party, so had to leave. Ironic isn't it.
