Big pay increases for Ealing Councillors Having been re-elected in May, Labour Councillors rewarded themselves by increasing their allowances. Everyone received an increase of nearly 25%, with the Council leader getting more than £21,000 a year more, taking his total pay to over £70,000. His deputy received a £19,000 increase and other senior Labour councillors another £16,000. There’ll certainly be no cost of living crisis for Labour councillors this winter.
