When Ealing Labour told us they were going to charge residents who do the right thing and recycle their garden waste, we pointed out that some will not pay and just put their garden waste out in their rubbish sacks or flytip it.
Labour told us that they expected 19,000 residents to sign up to the £40 garden tax and zero residents to flytip their garden waste, or put it out with their household rubbish.
Well, fewer than 9,000 have signed up to the £40 garden tax and hundreds have decided to put their garden waste out with their rubbish or just flytip it. See here.
So, if you have paid the £40 on top of your council tax, you now have to pay again to have the garden waste flytips picked up and with dirtier streets that have garden waste flytips on them for days or weeks on end.
You pay more under Labour and get less!!!!
