Cllr Isobel Grant, like the rest of us struggled to get anyone in the council to answer the phone during the month of April, probably because half the residents in the borough were trying to get through to the council at the same time to find out why their rubbish hadn't been collected.
She wanted to find out how many people gave up on the council after they rang because no one answered their call. In a normal month around 900 hang up because they get fed up waiting.
In April the figure was a shocking 5,117. So 5,117 people who pay their council tax rang the council looking for help and didn't get any. That is what you get from a Labour council.
