The Planning Appeal finally took place and ran for 8 days between 13th and 23 July with the Planning Inspector making a 3 hour site visit on 22 July on a pre-approved route accompanies by representatives of LBE and STT and, of course, the developer. The route included many areas of West Ealing, both North and South of the site, including the low rise Victorian housing in the Draytons and the St Stephens conservation area which highlighted how very out of place a twenty storey tower would be on the corner of Manor Road. The strength of local opposition was evident along the route with posters everywhere displayed by local residents, something noted by the Inspector on his previous visit.
