Conservative group leader in the council, Cllr David Millican launched a petition demanding that the Labour run Council not go ahead with
1.The £40 Garden Tax on all residents who recycle their garden waste,
2. Replacing the white canvas plastics recycling sacks with a green box that came with a hairnet
3. Moving to a fortnightly rubbish and recyleables collection
Labour have heard that our petition has been signed by thousands so have backtracked on replacing the white canvas sacks with a green box and hairnet.
All we have to do now is convince them to keep rubbish and recycling collections weekly, and that they should not punish people for recycling by charigng them £40pa. That's what we pay our council tax for. Thanks to all the residents and residents groups who supported our campaign.
