This last weekend saw over 2,000 join the march in protest against the changes that NHS North West London want to introduce to the areas hospital services.
There were two marches. One started at Southall Park which followed the Uxbridge road until it got to Ealing Common, the other, much smaller march, started at Acton. They both met at Ealing Common.
Both marches were well attended by the Conservative group in council and Conservative volunteers who then manned a stand next to the stage on the common where they helped over 1,000 take part in the consultation. Even the local Labour MP visited our stand.
No other group offered to help residents in this way. There were many speeches on stage, and the main theme of the speeches was around the risks of closing the A & E's . Angie Bray, Conservative MP for Ealing and Acton made her opposition to the plans clear.
Cllr David Millican, Conservative group leader in council thanked everyone for coming. He also said that although marching and signing petitions were important, it was not enough on it's own. Everyone should fill in the consultation. Click here for more details on how you can access this and for guidance on how to fill it in.
