Ealing Labours plans to save money by charging residents to take away their garden waste and also reduce collections from 52 times a year to 22 times a year are already looking shaky.
In Hobbayne ward alone, Cllr Colm Costello has found half a dozen garden waste flytips in the last few days. These cost money to collect, and leave our streets looking terrible while they just sit there on our footpaths for days on end.
One flytip, on Alcott close, made up of 6-7 bags of garden waste has been there for over ten days. Another on Homefarm road has sat there for 11 days.
This was all so avoidable. Cllr Costello said, "we told Labour that that this would happen if they charged residents for taking away their garden waste. Cllr Mahfouz said there was no evidence that people would put their garden waste out in the black sacks".
Now our streets are covered in evidence. Thanks for nothing Ealing Labour.
