Last week during the cold spell, the Councils contractor had difficulty coping with the conditions and missed a lot of collections during the week.
This is on top of all the other missed collections that had been happening over the last 9 months. Residents patience with this poor service has already been stretched to the limit, so this latest drop in service standards was not welcomed by residents.
Hobbayne Cllr, Colm Costello said,"I knew that there were lots of missed collections, but didn't know that the recorded message that greeted residents when they reported missed collections told them not to report them. That's typical of this labour Council. They don't want to hear what's going wrong and deny the scale of what's going wrong".
The Councils message told people that due to the icy conditions, the service had been disrupted. The Council knows about the missed collections, so don't hold on to report them.
Cllr Anderson, who represents Perivale said, "For the Council to ask residents not to report missed collections is crazy. How will we know how good or bad a job the Council is doing. It's almost as if they are trying to hide something".
Conservatives Cllrs in Ealings advice to residents is if your rubbish has not been collected, report it to the Council even when they tell you not to. You pay the wages around here and are entitled to be listened to and have your rubbish collected.
